David Nicholson: Recent Projects

David was tasked with implementing a modern planning system for a transport company that incorporated as means of communicating information to drivers and tracking their progress, and a system that could also allow customers to track their loads. The new system was required to run and integrate all operations/accounts/wages/workshop and container site functions.
The brief was to investigate current systems both ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke. A supplier decision was taken, and David delivered the installation and implementation of the system. A large amount of time and effort was required to make the system more ‘customer’ friendly.
Depot Development
David was required to set up three new depots, two of which were ‘greenfield’ sites with no accommodation. Having procured, located, transported and installed the office accommodation to these sites, David also had to negotiate with the necessary authorities to install water/sewage/electricity/telephone/broadband/computer hardware and networks and complete the job on time and within budget.
MPG Management
David established and implemented a driver/unit MPG management tool, to measure performance and facilitate the payment of bonuses.
